Dear Erna,

Viola had given up and was simply waiting to die.

Her frail body was weak and emaciated from a lack of food, she was infested with fleas and ticks, and her once happy spirit was completely shattered.

Viola had been grabbed from the street by government officials as part of a panicked over-reaction to a rabies scare. One of over 3,000 animals to endure the same terrifying experience, she was incarcerated in a makeshift facility that was in no way suitable for such a huge intake.

Your kind gift will help care for countless suffering animals like Viola. Please donate now!

Many of these animals are street dogs, part of the fabric of Thai society. Others are former pets, surrendered by panicking owners. None of them were vaccinated or sterilised.

Without adequate food supplies, a total lack of vaccinations and medication, previously healthy dogs began to fall seriously ill at an alarming rate.

Preventable diseases like parvovirus and distemper spread like wildfire, leading to suffering on an unprecedented scale. And with no segregation of males and females, puppies were being born into this horror

Will take a moment to picture that.

Will you please act now so that animals in such horrific situations can continue to get the help they desperately need?

As the dogs grew weaker from a lack of food, and killer diseases continued to spread, death was very soon all around. And when I met Viola, she was just waiting her turn.

And then something happened. People like you took action.

When I wrote about the horrors I’d witnessed and pleaded for help to save these animals, compassionate, generous souls responded. And now, things are changing.

Will you please join other animal lovers in ending the suffering of countless innocent creatures like Viola?
Viola today

Thanks to people like you, Soi Dog Foundation was able to send food and medical supplies, along with a veterinary team. Hundreds of animals have been vaccinated and sterilised and are receiving regular nourishing meals to build up their strength.

We are now working with our partner rescues in North America to find homes for these dogs who have endured so much. Will you help get them there?

the story doesn't end here.

Many of these dogs have injuries that mean they will require surgery once they are strong enough. Others will continue to need ongoing care while they wait for their forever homes.

And then there are the ones we have not even met yet: the Violas of the future.

A small regular gift from you will mean more homeless animals in need – sick, injured, abused or abandoned – can be picked up and shown love for the first time in their lives.

After the suffering I've witnessed, I’m determined that these dogs will get the second chance they deserve.

And I know I can count on you because I know you understand.

Thank you for being there for them.

P.S. A small monthly gift from you will translate into food, shelter, medical care and love for Viola and countless others. They’ve come so far and survived so much. We can’t turn our backs on them now.
